Hi! I am Tessa

A Dutch crochet lover who likes to spend her free time mostly with crocheting, trying out new crochet stitches and now for Tiny Tessa’s making her own crochet patterns.

In my day to day life I work at the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering where I mainly teach and work with 3D printing and prototyping. At work I develop 3D models with 3D printers and plastic threads, at home I do that with yarns and crochet needles.

My creativity and interest in crochet is all coming from my grandma Tiny, (yes this is a typical old fashioned Dutch name). During one of my projects in my student time I had to develop a product line where we would combine traditional and modern handicrafts. I had the idea to reproduce crocheted doilies with 3D printing. Unfortunately I could not crochet very thigh and make beautiful doilies. However, my grandma could, so she crocheted them for me and I made replications of them with use of 3D scanning and 3D printing. After this project I wanted to learn how to crochet. Watching lot of Youtube videos, trying tutorials and have failed projects, the crocheted results had finally an acceptable appearance (for my standards).
I like to crochet amigurumi, little animals and cuddly toys. With these you have quick results, I can put lot of creativity in them and they are create gifts for family and friends.
