The Singing Flamingo

One thing that I love with crochet is that you can make personal gifts. I have made this singing flamingo for my best friend in Australia. This flamingo can sing her little girl with a lullaby to sleep. The flamingo has flew a long distance before it reached her final destination with a pitstop in India.

For the pattern I used the Flamingo pattern of the book ‘Crocheted Wild Animals’ of Vanessa Mooncie. In this book the patterns are written and drawn. Thus if you cannot read the crochet text only the figures, then this book is ideal to start with making amigurumi.

I have placed the music box in the body of the flamingo and I converted the string of the box into several feathers. If you want to play the lullaby you have to pull the dark colored featers.
